This paper was a long time in the works and is a great addition to the literature! The Claisen Team consists of 2 PhD students, 4 MS students, and 8 undergrads in the Croatt Research Group.
Dr. Croatt is excited to lead the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Office which is changing the lives of undergrads by supporting them to participate in undergraduate research.
Based on the teaching practices effected by COVID-19, we were able to publish a paper studying how we managed things afterwards.
Congrats to the teams from my group, Oberlies Group, Burdette Group, and Mycosynthetix for their great paper on hypothecin analogues!
Congrats to Fahim, Tian, and Dempsey (former postdoc now faculty at Adelphi) for their recent paper on hydroalkoxlations of allenamides! Also, congrats to Ghina’a (former PhD student now faculty in Jordan) on her recent review of Isocarbacyclin analogues for use as current and emerging drugs!
Dr. Mitch Croatt has a theory about his lab group, and it fits right into that Spartan spirit at UNC Greensboro.
“The relationships that develop in a lab are similar to those on a sports team, where everyone helps one another and a success for one is a success for all,” he says. “They bond like a team and have healthy competitions to push one another to become better. I view myself as the coach of the team whose role is to both train and educate the players.”
Congrats to Dr. Khyarul “Fahim” Alam and Elvis McFee for their recent paper in Synthesis!
Congrats to Philip West who received the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship! He will be starting his PhD studies this Fall at MIT!
UNC Greensboro Provost Debbie Storrs and Dean John Z. Kiss (College of Arts & Sciences) have announced that Dr. Mitchell Croatt will be appointed the Marie Foscue Rourk Professor of Chemistry beginning January 1.
