Congrats to Dempsey for publishing his first independent paper in Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry! It’s a fantastic method to synthesize para-substituted aryl iodides. Also, congrats to Tian Li who is a co-author and will be coming to UNCG for his PhD studies this Fall!
A big congrats to UNCG Chemistry & Biochemistry alum Buthaina Al Rifaie for being awarded a graduate research fellowship from the National Science Foundation! Buthaina is a previous member of Dr. Croatt’s group, and is pursuing her PhD at the University of Utah.
Congrats to Mark Perez (Senior) for receiving an Honorable Mention at this year’s Undergraduate Research Expo! He is working on a palladium-catalyzed deoxygenation project.
