Congratulations, Graduates! A message from Dr. Mitchell Croatt, Department Head

Posted on December 11, 2020

Dear Graduates of Chemistry and Biochemistry,

Congratulations on earning your degree! You are in a select group of people with science-based degrees and an elite group of people who have made it through Organic, Inorganic, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry courses. You have proven yourself as a problem-solver, hard-worker, and multi-tasker.

This is an exciting time as you move into the next stage of your life. Even though you are earning your degree during a time of great uncertainty and unrest, with many changes happening with little-to-no warning, I am confident that the education you received from UNCG will position you for future success. We are proud to send you out into the world as representatives of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNCG!

In place of an in-person ceremony to honor your accomplishments, I hope that you enjoy the video below by a couple of your fellow graduates, Dr. Derick D. Jones, Jr. and Kimberly Goins. Please know that I can confidently speak on behalf of the Department when I say that we are proud of the Chemists and Biochemists that you have become.

Please keep in touch with the Department. If you haven’t already, please join our LinkedIn Group and follow us on Facebook and Twitter!

Take care and stay safe!

Mitch Croatt
Department Head
