***TALK HAS BEEN CANCELLED***

RISE Network Presents
Dr. Charles Ichoku
Climate and Radiation Laboratory
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

“The Wonders of Wildfires: How do we understand the climatic influences of wildfires, their patterns and their effects on agriculture?”

Dr. Charles Ichoku is actively involved in the development of innovative remote sensing approaches for global characterization of fires, their smoke emissions, and atmospheric aerosols in general, and evaluating their impacts on the environment and climate. His activities include developing and applying both experimental and remote sensing approaches to research in various branches of the earth sciences, including geology and geodynamics, hydrology, and atmospheric studies. He has won several NASA individual and group achievement awards, and has published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
