Dr. Chrissy Stachl joined us at our group meeting to discuss her research on sense of belonging in academia!

On August 28, we were joined by Dr. Chrissy Stachl at our group meeting. Maia and Chrissy met as part of the Chem Women Mentorship Network (ChemWMN) where Maia was assigned as Chrissy’s mentor to help her further her academic career. At the group meeting, Chrissy gave a presentation on her work about characterizing and improving chemistry department’s climate around diversity and inclusion, as well as her work on sense of belonging in academia. We had many questions for Chrissy and learned a lot. Thank you Chrissy for making the time!

To learn more about Chrissy’s work, feel free to check out her article in the Journal of Chemical Education.
