Talk Title: “Do they know I’m an organic chemist?”
Abstract:
A new idea in the lab often requires one to venture into unfamiliar territory to describe previously unknown phenomena. These projects demand expanding previously developed expertise and intuition. In this presentation, we will discuss two side projects that fall into this category for an organic chemist: 1) Low-resistance molecular wires that propagate spin polarized currents generated through the chirality induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect, and 2) Low cost nanocrystal-based radiation detectors via 3-D printing.
