Talk Title: On The Unconventional DNA Based Technologies

Abstract:

At the Synthetic Biology and Molecular Information (SBMI) lab we bridge synthetic biology, nanotechnology,  and semiconductors. SBMI lab aims to create sustainable and scalable DNA-based digital data storage systems, in which the information bits will be written, stored, and read in DNA and its language. Additionally, we employ DNA nanotech for a host of biological and non-biological applications. Our team at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering has a mission to train students, boost the local economy, and engage the community of the central North Carolina Piedmont Triad region through the educational and outreach programs that foster the economic impacts of the Semiconductors and Synthetic Biology. I’ll talk about our most recent efforts at SBMI Lab.
