Our unique programs offer the opportunity to conduct nationally recognized chemistry research in a friendly and supportive environment.

We work in the beautiful Patricia A. Sullivan Science Building

Students chat or study together with a bird-eye view of campus in our sunny 4th floor lobby.

Each research group has an individual laboratory equipped with up to date instrumentation.

Hands on training in the use of instrumentation helps our students compete for jobs.

Every year, more than 100 undergraduates and 40 graduate student conduct independent research projects in our faculty research laboratories.

Each year, these research students give more than 100 presentations at scientific conferences…

… and an additional 40+ students coauthor articles in peer reviewed scientific journals.

Our students get outside the laboratory to collect samples…

…or as part of our NSF-funded undergraduate study abroad program in the UK.

Our department offers undergraduate and master’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, and one of the nation’s only PhD programs in Medicinal Biochemistry.

Our graduate programs feature unique electives such as entrepreneurship and grant writing.

Our graduates go on to secure employment as teachers, scientists, doctors, and pharmacists. Read our Alumni Stories!
