Welcome to Anshul!

We are excited to welcome Anshul to the lab! He was born in U.P., India and earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons.) from the University of Delhi in 2013. He completed his M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2016. After that, he gained his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Centre of Biomedical Research affiliated to Banaras Hindu University under the supervision of Dr. Syed Masood Husain in 2023. His thesis research work was focused on the “Development of biocatalytic methods for the synthesis of pharmaceutically important chiral tetrahydro benzazepines and natural deoxyanthraquinones using NADPH-dependent reductases”. Anshul joined the Chekan Lab in June 2023 and is studying the biosynthesis and enzymology of RiPP compounds.
