The Chemistry Laboratory Curriculum (CLC) Innovators program successfully completed its second Summer Institute! This year’s institute refined the program by dedicating more time to developing laboratory teaching materials and engaging in deeper discussions of Johnstone’s Triangle, science and engineering practices, and inquiry. Participants received pedagogical training and hands-on lab experience focused on creating inquiry-based curricula, while also building a nationwide community of practice that continues throughout the year.
Cohort 2 included 11 institutional teams (38 participants total, with 26 faculty and 12 TAs) representing both four-year institutions and a two-year college. Following the week-long institute, participants will continue to meet in virtual sessions to receive ongoing support and share progress as they implement their new laboratory experiences.
