Bailey Thompson won the Undergraduate Research and Creativity Award (URCA) to conduct a project titled “Investigating student visual processing behavior when translating between different representations of molecular structure.” Bailey is a senior undergraduate researcher with an interest in pursuing scientific/technical writing and editing as her future career. This project contains a plethora of skills that are beneficial to Bailey’s future career aspirations. Bailey will be aiding in reviewing literature around the use of eye-tracking in chemistry education research, in collecting and analyzing eye-tracking data and interview data, as well as in the process of writing and publishing the results of this study.
