The Popova Research Group is looking for a CER PostDoc!

The Chemistry Education Research group led by Dr. Maia Popova is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for a major portion of data collection and analysis on a project aiming to characterize chemistry instructors’ pedagogical content knowledge, teaching beliefs, and teaching practices towards developing student representational competence. Duties will include, but not limited to: designing an assessment instrument, collecting data (e.g., interviews, instrument administration), analyzing data (e.g., constant-comparative analysis, factor analysis), and disseminating results through competitive manuscripts and presentations at national conferences. If interested, the postdoctoral scholar will have opportunities to participate in external proposal writing.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry Education Research, STEM Education Research, or a closely related field, as well as excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong preference would be given to those with expertise in quantitative research methods (psychometric analysis and factor analysis), but applicants with qualitative research methods background are also encouraged to apply!

Initial appointment is for one year with the potential for renewal for one additional year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funds.
