Dr. Shabnam Hematian is Awarded an NSF LEAPS-MPS Grant!

Congratulations to Dr. Shabnam Hematian and her team for winning a Launching Early-Career Academic Pathways in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (LEAPS-MPS) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to advance their efforts to develop aerobic photocatalysts for green oxidation processes!

The grant also enables Dr. Hematian, who joined UNCG in 2018, to introduce research opportunities to students who are historically underrepresented in STEM, thus broadening participation and retention in the chemistry field. Read more here.
