Talk Title: Nitrogenous Heterocyles: Electrochemical Diversification and Therapeutic Applications

Abstract:

Heterocyclic organic chemistry remains fundamental to the work of medicinal chemists, in both industry and academia. We have medicinal projects aimed at optimizing heterocyclic hit compounds as potential treatments for HCV infection, metastatic cancer and CNS disorders. To facilitate optimization efforts, we aim to design synthetic approaches that allow both efficient target construction and modification at multiple sites on the molecule’s core. We are interested in utilizing existing synthetic strategies for the optimization of therapeutically relevant small molecules and the development of new electrochemical methods to construct and functionalize heterocyclic motifs.
