Biochemistry researchers at UNCG strive to understand the chemical process that occur in biological organisms. Specific projects range from investigations of the mechanism of action of biologically active molecules, the biosynthetic pathways of natural products, enzymology of important metabolic pathways in important model and pathogenic bacteria, photosynthesis, nanotechnology involving DNA, and computational modeling of medicinally-important cell surface receptors.
